One of our most popular trips and a favorite among guests and crew, this trip will take you to the beautiful riverfront destination of Conway, SC. Our route will take us on some of the most scenic waterways of any trip we offer. In addition to the natural beauty, you’ll also get a close river view of some of the old plantation homes and riverfront properties perched on the river’s edge. We’ll begin this trip near McClellanville, SC on the Intracoastal Waterway. From there you will travel some sections of the South and North Santee Rivers before we stop for lunch on the Historic Georgetown riverwalk. The afternoon will take us on to the Great Pee Dee River, where we’ll pass through the narrow, trail-like sections of the Samworth Wildlife Management Area. After the river widens again, we’ll take a short run down beautiful, unspoiled Bull Creek and on to the Waccamaw River, which will lead us to our destination. We’ll dock at the marina, just a short walk from the beautifully appointed Inn that we will call home for two nights. (Meet us on the front porch for appetizers and welcome beverage before our private catered dinner begins!)
On Day Two we’ll guide you upriver to experience a very adventurous 52-mile ride through the winding 5 million year old Waccamaw Basin. This scenic part of the river is lined with magnificent, old Cypress, where the Blue Heron, Osprey and White Egrets abound. After lunch the afternoon is yours to relax on the porch, explore the city park and riverwalk, or the city of Conway just a few blocks away. To close out a full day of fun and exploration we’ll visit one of our all-time favorite dining establishments for some of the most exquisite low-county cuisine in the state of South Carolina.
On Day Three, after another great breakfast at the Inn, you will have a full day on the water as you make your way back to the start point to complete your 325 mile trip. This area is so rich in history you will feel the presence of the past all around you while still enjoying the best of today’s amenities. Truly an adventure you’ll never forget!
